Compressor Suction Scrubber Design to AS1210

Project Scope
As detailed in the project report Reciprocating Gas Compressor Piping and Structural Design, Biggs Design Engineering (BIGGS) completed the piping system design for an IntelliGas (iGas) Gas Compressor Module (GCM). The GCM package included two compressor suction scrubbers, designed to the Australian Standard for Pressure Vessels AS1210.
BIGGS’ involvement in vessel design was comprehensive and included review of the operating and design conditions, engineering design calculations to AS1210, vessel drawing review, facilitation of design verification, through to fabrication support.
BIGGS provided the following engineering services to iGas:
- Full pressure vessel design calculations to AS1210.
- Preparation of equipment datasheets for the vessels, and development of datasheet templates for the client.
- Pulsation suppression device calculations to ISO 13631 and API 618.
- Integration of the pressure vessels into the piping system design through stress/flexibility analysis of the complete GCM package to ASME B31.3.
- Environmental load calculations to Australian Standard for Structural Design Actions, AS1170 (parts 2 and 4).
